Lecture 19: Pump Testing
Learning Objectives
Be able to finish assembly of the pump
Be able to perform basic trouble-shooting to verify operation of the pump
Be able to describe the shape of head versus flow rate curve for a pump
Be able to describe the shape of the efficiency versus flow rate curve for a pump
Be able to identify the no-flow and maximum flow points on head versus flow rate and efficiency versus flow rate curves
Be able to perform the measurements necessary to measure pump performance: measure flow rate, head, power input
Be able to reduce the raw data from pump performance measurements to obtain head versus flow rate and efficiency versus flow rate curves.
Be able to complete the measurements necessary to measure pump performance: measure flow rate, head, power input
Be able to make a polynomial curve fit to the head versus flow rate and efficiency versus flow rate curves
