Lecture 5. Variables, built-in Arduino functions

Quiz 1

Quiz 1 is at the start of class meeting. It is closed notes and will take approximately 20 minutes. Don't forget your calculator. Please review everything covered in Lectures 1 to 4 included. Practice problems for electricity can be found on allaboutcircuits.com/worksheets. Problems that I suggest:

  • Basic Electricity
    • Series DC circuits: Q1, Q2, Q6, Q9, Q12, Q15, Q17
    • Parallel DC circuits: Q1, Q8, Q9, Q11, Q12, Q15, Q17, Q19
  • DC Electric Circuits:
    • Kirchoff's Laws: Q2, Q5, Q6, Q23, Q25
    • Series/ Parallel DC circuits: Q2, Q4, Q5, Q7, Q8, Q10, Q19, Q21

Homework

Homework 2 is due at the start of class meeting, just after the quiz.

Checklist: What you need to bring for this lecture

  • Laptop
  • Sparkfun Inventor's kit
  • Digital multimeter
  • Miniature test clip adapters

Learning Objectives

  • Be able to use the different types of variables in Arduino programming
  • Be able to use the Serial Monitor to receive input from an Arduino attached to your laptop computer
